Boxer Amir Khan receives army captain rank from Pakistan’s army

British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan received an honorary rank of captain from the Pakistan Army for a day following his meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir.

Khan, accompanied by martial arts champion Shahzaib Rind, visited General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the meeting, stating that the army chief commended the athletes for their remarkable contributions to sports and expressed confidence in Pakistan’s youth.

Khan expressed gratitude on Instagram for the honor, sharing photos and a video of himself in Pakistan Army uniform and receiving a guard of honor.

He clarified that the rank was honorary and emphasized his love for Pakistan while stating his lack of involvement in politics.
