Brigadier Barki and team put up valiant resistance against hardcore terrorists during encounter, ISPR

An confrontation with “hardcore terrorists” in South Waziristan’s Angoor Adda resulted in the martyrdom of a brigadier from Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated on Tuesday.

The ISPR said in the statement that there was a vigorous firefight between the two sides. Seven people were hurt, including two who had serious injuries, and Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki was killed “while leading the encounter from the front,” according to the report.

Brigadier Barki and his crew “put up a valiant resistance against the terrorists during the encounter and the officer sacrificed his life for peace of the motherland,” according to the military’s media affairs branch.

The ISPR stated, “Defence forces of Pakistan and intelligence agencies commit to reiterate and exhibit steadfast resolve to remove the threat of terrorism from every inch of the country.

The military’s media affairs division also reported, in another statement, on Tuesday that three troops were martyred while three terrorists were killed during a firefight in the Dera Ismail Khan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Terrorists reportedly opened fire on a police checkpoint Friday night in the Khutti region, leading security personnel to instantly block any potential escape routes, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Terrorists on the run were stopped in the general Saggu, DI Khan district. Three terrorists were executed after a fierce gunfight, the ISPR reported, adding that ammunition and weapons had also been found.

According to the statement, Havaldar Muhammad Azhar Iqbal, 42, Naik Muhammad Asad, 34, and Sepoy Muhammad Essa, 22, all died during the fierce exchange of fire.

“The location is being sanitized to get rid of any terrorists that may have been there. These heroic troops’ sacrifices further solidify the Pakistan Army’s determination to end the threat of terrorism, according to the ISPR.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the foreign minister, denounced the assault and expressed sorrow over the troops’ sacrifice. He paid tribute to the martyrs, calling them “brave sons of the soil,” and sent his condolences to their loved ones.
