Britain and NATO allies must spend more, be tougher, UK’s Cameron to say

Britain’s Foreign Minister, David Cameron, is set to advocate for NATO members to fulfill their commitment to allocate 2 percent of GDP to defense spending. In a forthcoming speech, Cameron will state the need for NATO to demonstrate strength and assertiveness in dealing with adversaries.

He will stress the importance of outcompeting, outcooperating, and outinnovating, while also advocating for the establishment of 2.5 percent as the new benchmark for defense spending. Additionally, Cameron will highlight the necessity of forming new partnerships globally, not just strengthening existing alliances.

He will address the UK’s stance on the conflict in Ukraine and criticize nations that are reluctant to invest in defense amid ongoing conflicts. Cameron will underscore the lessons learned from Russia’s invasion and call for a more proactive and resolute approach in addressing security challenges.
