Britain declares Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as terrorist group

Britain will officially designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which has detained seven people connected to the UK as a result of anti-government demonstrations, as a terrorist organization.

A telegraph report on Monday revealed that Britain’s security minister, Tom Tugendhat, and Home Secretary Suella Braverman will make an official announcement in the coming weeks.

If the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were declared a terrorist organization, it would be illegal to be a member, attend meetings, and display the group’s logo in public.

In response to a comment request regarding the Telegraph report, the UK Home Office choose to remain silent.

Last week, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards detained seven people with ties to the United Kingdom in connection with anti-government demonstrations.

The protests in Iran erupted in the wake of the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian who was detained for violating the country’s strict Islamic dress code
