Bushra Ansari, a renowned senior artist in the Pakistan showbiz industry, recently opened up about her failed 36-year-long marriage in an interview with a private digital magazine
“Divorcing after 36 years of marriage was a challenging experience, and it wasn’t a sudden decision,” the actress asserted.
According to Bushra Ansari, she separated from her ex-husband, Iqbal Ansari, for 10 years before they officially divorced, but people never came to know about it.
She said that there were problems in their lives, like ordinary people, which didn’t necessarily need to be shared with the public.
Legendary actress added that they also attempted to maintain their marriage by staying together and separately for the sake of their children, but it didn’t work out.
Bushra Ansari praised her ex-husband and acknowledged that he never discouraged her from working after marriage. He encouraged her and played a significant role in mentoring many playwrights, including her.
She unveiled that she learned the art of playwriting from him, but as husband and wife, they couldn’t sustain their relationship.
Bushra revealed that she is still in touch with her ex-husband due to the shared responsibility of their children.
She also mentioned that she gave herself a second chance at love, which came unexpectedly. She discussed how society does not tolerate it, but she did not have to deal with it—at least not in front of her girls.
