CCOP has given preliminary approval to privatize 24 state-owned institutions over the next five years, aiming to boost private sector growth, competition, and economic health.
Top priorities include Pakistan International Airlines and other entities like the Utility Stores Corporation and Agricultural Development Bank.
The phased process will involve consultations with relevant ministries to ensure a smooth transition. Additionally, 40 other institutions are under review, with their fate to be decided later.
The privatization initiative aims to generate revenue for debt payment and development projects while enhancing the country’s economic landscape.
