The Capital Development Authority (CDA) revealed its intention on Wednesday to construct Pakistan’s largest IT park in Islamabad.
With great anticipation, the CDA has approved the construction of an expansive IT park spanning 3.3 acres in Sector G-10, Islamabad.
Highlighting the strategic importance of this initiative, the authority disclosed that detailed planning has been undertaken, securing a designated plot for the significant project.
The upcoming Islamabad IT Park will be developed through a collaborative effort under the Public Private Partnership model, symbolizing the convergence of governmental vision and private sector expertise.
Designed to be a bustling center of technological innovation, the park is set to cover an impressive area of one lakh square feet, accommodating approximately 5 to 6 thousand freelancers, startups, and software houses.
Emphasizing the multifaceted utility of the IT park, CDA officials explained that it will serve as a vibrant ecosystem conducive to innovation and growth.
Among its various features, the park will include state-of-the-art facilities such as a library, exhibition spaces for IT products, as well as dedicated areas for research centers, conference halls, and meeting rooms.
Additionally, the CDA clarified that the financial responsibility for constructing the Islamabad IT Park will rest entirely with private entities, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the initiative.
Under the arrangement, private companies will lease space within the park to establish their IT offices, thereby stimulating economic activity and job creation within the growing technology sector.
Looking ahead, the CDA disclosed that operational control of the IT park will be transitioned to the authority after 15 years upon completion, demonstrating a long-term commitment to nurturing Pakistan’s technological infrastructure.
