A new Chinese high-altitude, high-speed reconnaissance drone made its first flight on Friday.
This UAV, called the WZ-8, flew three times faster than sound and can go up to 30 kilometers in the sky.
Defence Blog magazine’s website showed the WZ-8 under a Xian H-6 bomber. This means it needs help from another plane to take off.
China plans to use the WZ-8 for intelligence-gathering, especially in places like Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan.
This drone will improve China’s ability to gather information in areas where normal surveillance methods might not work.
