CJCSC discusses security, bilateral military engagement with Uzbek deputy PM

General Raza said Pakistan is keen to expand its existing bilateral military-to-military cooperation with Uzbekistan

Uzbekistani Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umurzakov called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi today.

The Inter-Services Public Relations said that the two officials discussed matters of bilateral strategic interest. It added that a particular emphasis on evolving regional security situation, particularly in Afghanistan was made during discussions.

The military’s media wing said that both officials discussed further strengthening of security and defense cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The ISPR said that both individuals also deliberated upon measures to enhance the level and scope of military engagements between both countries. The pair reaffirmed to continue to forge deeper ties, it added.

The CJCSC said that Pakistan was keen to expand its existing bilateral military-to-military cooperation with Uzbekistan as part of Pakistan’s ongoing upward trajectory in defense ties with the regional countries.

Meanwhile, Sardor Umurzakov commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their role in safeguarding the vital national interests of Pakistan and defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The visiting dignitary official lauded the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
