Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has congratulated General Syed Asim Munir on his appointment as the Chief of Army Staff and paid tribute to General Qamar Javed Bajwa for his services.
According to details, CM Punjab Pervaiz Elahi congratulated General Syed Asim Munir on being appointed as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and General Sahir Shamshad Mirza as Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
Elahi said that General Asim Munir and General Sahir Shamshad were capable and professional officers and after the appointment of the new Army Chief the series of speculations should be stopped now.
CM Punjab while paying tribute to the services of General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that General Bajwa did exemplary service for the defence of the country.
Pervaiz Elahi further said that during the tenure of General Bajwa the war to eliminate terrorism was successfully fought. He said that Pakistan Army has rendered valuable services in the economy, diplomacy and natural disasters.
