COAS firmly rejects compromise with May 9 plotters, vows justice and unity

The army chief, General Syed Asim Munir, made it clear that there will be no negotiation or agreement with those responsible for planning and executing the events of May 9. He emphasized that hostile elements and their supporters are engaging in digital terrorism, attempting to sow discord between the Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan through the spread of misinformation and propaganda.

During his visit to Lahore Garrison, General Asim Munir paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and received a briefing on the readiness of the troops. Addressing the officers and soldiers, he commended their dedication and professionalism, highlighting the ongoing efforts to undermine unity through false narratives and divisive actions.

The COAS condemned the violence on May 9 as a dark chapter in Pakistan’s history, perpetrated by misguided individuals manipulated by political agendas. He emphasized that those responsible for orchestrating such violence will face accountability, regardless of their attempts to portray themselves as victims.

General Asim Munir assured that the sacrifices of the martyrs and the integrity of the institution will be respected, and perpetrators of the May 9 events will be brought to justice. He cautioned against misconstruing patience as weakness, affirming the resolve to uphold the rule of law.

Additionally, he inaugurated the Jinnah Library at Lahore Garrison, symbolizing the resilience of constructive efforts over destructive forces.
