Confirmation of poliovirus in environmental samples in Badin

Badin: Poliovirus has been confirmed in environmental samples in the district of Badin.

According to the Ministry of Health, poliovirus has been confirmed in 83 environmental samples in the current year. The virus found in these environmental samples is believed to be related to the virus from across the border.

The report also stated that the virus found in all positive environmental samples this year correlates with the two polio cases reported.

The Health Department emphasizes that polio is an incurable disease that affects children under the age of 5. Ensuring protection against the poliovirus for children across the country is of utmost importance.

Appealing to all parents, the Health Department stated that it is mandatory to administer polio drops to children under 5 years old in order to protect them from polio.
