Court grants Asad Umar interim bail in terror case

An anti-terrorism court on Friday granted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar interim bail in a terror case.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Asad Umar had been granted interim bail in a case registered under the Terrorism Act.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) granted bail to Asad Umar till March 28 against a surety bond of Rs100,000.

Earlier, PTI secretary general Asad Umar requested protective bail on Monday in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) after charges were brought against him in Lahore.

The PTI leader asked the IHC to hear the protective bail appeal saying that he might be arrested during the ongoing campaign against PTI leadership and workers. In the high court, Umar also had his biometrics checked.
