Cricketer Usman Khan terminates contract with UAE Cricket Board

Young cricketer Usman Khan, who recently represented Multan Sultans in the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has made a significant sacrifice by relinquishing financial gains to prioritize representing his country.

Usman Khan has taken the bold step of serving notice to terminate his central contract with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Cricket Board in favor of Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has extended legal support to him in this decision.

Had Usman Khan chosen not to play for the Pakistani team, he would have become eligible to represent the UAE team in the future. However, he has prioritized the future of the Pakistani team by opting for this path.

It’s noteworthy that the Emirates Cricket Board had offered Usman Khan a central contract to alleviate his financial concerns. He had represented the Gulf Giants as a local player in this year’s ILT20, receiving a payment of $50,000 (approximately PKR 10.4 million).

By making this sacrifice, Usman Khan has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to representing Pakistan on the cricketing stage.
