Dar directs FBR to collect more taxes

China assures Pakistan of continued cooperation, Chinese Ambassador calls on Finance Minister

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar has urged the FBR team to take a position according to the changes from the economic point of view and directed to collect more taxes.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on the revenue performance of FBR at FBR Headquarters on Wednesday.

On the other hand, China has assured Pakistan of its continued cooperation and said that the Chinese government stood with the people of Pakistan and was ready to provide all kinds of assistance. The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Rong Nong, called on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday.

The Finance Minister’s meeting at FBR Headquarters was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Finance Tariq Bajwa, Special Assistant on Revenue Tariq Mahmood Pasha, Chairman FBR, board members of FBR and other senior officials of the Finance Division.

On this occasion, FBR Chairman Asim Ahmed welcomed the Finance Minister to the FBR and briefed him about the revenue targets for the months of November and December 2022 and detailed performance and data about the performance of the FBR. He informed the finance minister that the FBR had crossed the revenue collection targets by November and hoped that its targets would be successfully met in the remaining months of the financial year 2022-23.

Dar expressed satisfaction with the performance and appreciated the efforts of the FBR team in achieving the targets. The finance minister also urged the FBR team to take a position in accordance with the changes from the economic point of view and directed the FBR to step up its efforts to achieve real tax revenue in the country.
