Lahore: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has seized an additional 10 crore units of LESCO.
According to FIA sources, LESCO overbilled the public by charging for 10 crore units during the course of one year through overbilling. The revelation of overbilling by LESCO has also exposed government offices.
Previously, FIA had seized documentary evidence of overbilling for 20 crore units from LESCO. During further scrutiny of LESCO’s records, evidence of overbilling for another 10 crore units was found.
Director FIA Sarfaraz Warraich stated that the arrest of more senior officials of LESCO is expected in the coming days. FIA had summoned the superintendent engineer who failed to provide satisfactory answers to FIA’s questions.
It is worth noting that a few days ago when FIA summoned LESCO officials, they had refused to appear before the agency.
