Islamabad: The decision has been made to completely shut down the American social media platform X in Pakistan.
According to sources within the PTA government, law enforcement agencies and the PTA administration have recommended the complete shutdown of X.
The Ministry of Interior has been instructed to respond regarding the closure of X.
Previously, Federal Minister Ata Tarar had stated, “Why don’t social media platforms open offices in Pakistan? Social media platforms should open offices in Pakistan. Shutting down X is not a good step, the entire network of banned BLA is present on X.”
This decision marks a significant development in the realm of social media regulation in Pakistan. The move to shut down X underscores the government’s efforts to ensure accountability and regulate online platforms.
