Diljit Dosanjh’s bold transformation in ‘Chamkila’: Turban takes backseat

Diljit Dosanjh will be seen in an all-new avatar in his upcoming film Chamkila as the singer dispensed his signature turban for the movie directed by Imtiaz Ali.

The first trailer for the movie, which debuted yesterday, featured Diljit in his first official look in the part of the late singer Amar Singh Chamkila.

Parineeti Chopra will also play the role of Amarjot Kaur, Amar Singh’s wife.

The teaser began with spectators gathered in front of a stage anticipating the singer’s performance as an introduction to the celebrity was announced over the loudspeaker in the background.

The actor from Good News posted the preview on social media with the caption: “Jo naam saalon se aapke dil aur dimaag pe chaaya hai woh ab aapke saamne aaya hai (The person who has ruled over your thoughts and emotions for years is now being presented.)”, shared a trailer while posting on Netflix.

After watching the teaser, internet users were shocked to see Diljit in a new outfit. Fans are eager to see him for the first time without a turban.

Chamkila will unfold the story of a Punjabi singer, Amar Singh, who was killed at the age of 27.

In this Imtiaz Ali-directed project, Diljit will play the famed Amar Singh Chamkila, Punjab’s legendary record-breaking musician. The amazing Parineeti Chopra, who will play Amarjot Kaur, Amar Singh Chamkila’s partner, will accompany him on this film voyage.
