Discos seek Rs51.88bn increase in electricity tariff

Power distribution companies (Discos) have requested permission from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to collect an additional Rs51.88 billion from consumers.

This request is for third-quarter adjustments for the financial year 2023–24, with Rs31.34 billion for capacity payment and Rs5.57 billion for operation and maintenance costs.

The increase, if approved, will also impact consumers in Karachi.

Nepra is scheduled to review the request on May 17 ¹.
