The Kasur District Police Officer (DPO), Tariq Aziz, and his team have apprehended the suspect involved in mutilating his wife’s nose and ears, along with an accomplice, in Phoolnagar, Kasur.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, commended DPO Kasur Tariq Aziz and the police force for their prompt action in apprehending the perpetrators. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is prioritizing efforts to combat gender-based violence through the Never Again campaign. He assured that the perpetrator responsible for this brutal act against his wife would face swift justice through legal proceedings.
DPO Kasur Tariq Aziz disclosed that the police swiftly registered a case upon receiving information about the assault, which led to the immediate arrest of two suspects, including the main perpetrator, Latif. Efforts are underway to apprehend a third female accomplice. Additionally, on the directives of the IG Punjab, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Patoki visited the victim in hospital to inquire about her health and reassure her of expedited justice.
The arrest comes as part of ongoing efforts to combat gender-based violence and ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
