In Nawab Town, Lahore, a drug addict assaulted his sister and her young nephew.

The three-year-old nephew, identified as Ali Raza, was fatally stabbed, while the woman sustained injuries.

The attacker, Haider Ali, fled the scene after the incident. The injured woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

This tragic event occurred following a dispute between Haider Ali and his sister.

Additionally, Lahore has been grappling with drug addiction issues, with at least 559 deaths reported in public areas such as streets, parks, and sidewalks in 2024.

Syed Zulfiqar Hussain, a consultant for the Anti-Drugs/Narcotics Campaign, cited the ‘Addiction in Lahore’ report, compiled by the Drug Advisory Training Hub (DATH) in collaboration with YOCFAN, to highlight the severity of the situation.
