ECP issues revised list of female candidates for senate elections in Punjab

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released an updated roster of female candidates for the upcoming Senate elections scheduled for April 2.

According to the ECP notification, there are now four contenders vying for two reserved seats in the Senate for women from Punjab.

Among the candidates are Anusha Rehman and Bushra Anjum Butt representing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Faiza Malik from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), and Sanam Javed nominated by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the Senate seats in Punjab.

Furthermore, the Appellate Tribunal of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted approval to Sanam Javed’s appeal, allowing her participation in the Senate elections. LHC Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan, a member of the tribunal, has directed the ECP to add Sanam Javed’s name to the list of candidates contesting the Senate elections.
