Family of protocol vehicle victim gets Rs2.5m

As per the instructions of the chief minister, Narowal Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza and MPA Ahmad Iqbal made a visit to the residence of the deceased victim, Muhammad Abubakar, situated in village Jasar. Their purpose was to extend condolences to the grieving parents and convey the heartfelt sympathy of the CM in the wake of the tragic loss.

During their visit, Deputy Commissioner Raza and MPA Ahmad Iqbal presented a cheque amounting to Rs2.5 million to Abubakar’s father, Fakhr Ayaz, on behalf of the chief minister. This gesture aimed to provide some financial support to the family in their time of distress.

MPA Ahmad Iqbal also reiterated the government’s solidarity with the bereaved family, acknowledging the profound grief they were experiencing due to the untimely demise of Muhammad Abubakar.

The unfortunate incident occurred on April 18, when 23-year-old Abubakar was involved in a fatal accident on the Narowal-Shakargarh Road, allegedly involving the protocol car of the chief minister. Narowal police reported that the collision initially involved two motorcycles, including Abubakar’s, followed by an impact with a government vehicle, resulting in his immediate demise.

In response to the incident, Maryam Nawaz, a prominent political figure, promptly took notice and requested a comprehensive report from the Deputy Commissioner regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Muhammad Abubakar, who was employed at a filling pump, hailed from a working-class background, with his father, Fakhr Ayaz, earning a livelihood as a laborer. In light of the tragedy, the chief minister also directed law enforcement authorities to initiate legal proceedings against the driver responsible for the fatal collision, ensuring accountability for the loss of life.
