Fast bowler Mohammad Amir escapes death in Malaysia

Fast bowler Mohammad Amir revealed that during the under-19 match in Malaysia in the past, his health deteriorated due to the wrong medicines given by doctors.

Mohammad Amir recently participated in the program ‘Hasna Mana Hai’, where he discussed getting ill due to the dengue virus while playing for the U-19 team.

Recalling the incident, he stated, ‘‘At the time I was only 15 years old and was the youngest player in the team. We were playing the first match against Malaysia when I developed a headache. I sat down while fielding and informed the doctor. He gave me Panadol but my fever remained high. After that, the doctor advised me not to play the match.’’

According to Mohammad Amir, he continued medication for 3 days, but his condition did not improve. Later, he requested the team manager to take him to the hospital for a check-up. Doctors in the hospital examined his condition and took his blood test. After 20 to 25 minutes 4 to 5 doctors rushed towards him and informed him that he has dengue fever and his condition was critical.

The fast bowler mentioned that at that time the doctors expressed doubt about his survival until tomorrow morning and admitted him to the hospital. That night, Amir 25 to 28 drops and he regained consciousness after two days. Even on the third day, the doctors were not allowing him to discharge.
