Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan starrer Pakistan, Punjabi movie ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ hits the 400 crore mark at Box Office after almost 10 months after its release. The movie was released in October 2022.
According to the popular box office numbers website ‘box office mojo,’ the all-time blockbuster movie has earned $5,016,493 in domestic revenue and $8,823,046 in international revenue.
The gross total of ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ stands at $13,839,539.
Converting the numbers into PKR according to the current dollar rate, the total tally of box office collection stands at 399.4 crore.
The popularity of the movie’s original script and cast, which included Pakistani superstars Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malik, and Hamza Ali Abbasi, made the success of the movie inevitable when director Bilal Lashari presented the first poster for The Legend of Maula Jatt in 2018.
What was unexpected, however, was that The Legend of Maula Jatt, apparently the most costly Pakistani film produced to date with a budget of 450 to 550 million Pakistani rupees (PKR), or $2-2.5 million, became an instant hit upon its premiere four years later.
Bilal Lashari’s 2019 film The Legend of Maula Jatt, which he also produced, had a huge impact on the Pakistani film industry. Fawad gave a strong performance as the film’s main character, and the movie included a fusion of action, drama, and romance.
The film received a ton of accolades for its stunning visuals, compelling plot, and amazing action scenes. In addition to captivating viewers in Pakistan, The Legend of Maula Jatt has won praise for its original narrative on a global scale.
The movie, which was made by Ammara Hikmat’s Encyclomedia and Lashari Films, is a remake of “Maula Jatt,” a 1979 cult classic directed by Yunus Malik. It focuses on the storied rivalry between the violent gang’s leader Noori Natt (Hamza Ali Abbasi) and local hero Maula Jatt (Fawad Khan). Maula Jatt’s romantic interest is Mukkho, a feisty villager played by Mahira Khan.
