Fazl for searching PM House for PTI spies

As the government has initiated a probe into audio-leak fiasco, JUI-F head Maulana Fazlur Rehman asked for search of PTI supporters in Prime Minister’s House.

The chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam who also head the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-the constituent parties of the unity government-said the former ruling party’s members might be behind the leak and the issue was needed to be dealt with iron hand. Three audio clips purportedly featuring leaders of the government surfaced online on Saturday night, with one of the clips reportedly involving a conversation among several senior leaders of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in the high-security PM House, raising questions about the security of high-profile meetings.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Fazl declared PTI chairman Imran Khan as threat to country’s survival and person behind the inflation and economic destabilization. He claimed Jewish lobby launched the former prime minister to destroy the country under a conspiracy. Some international organizations, who did not mention directly, were also behind the launch of Khan, claimed the JUI-F leader who before coming to power in April had frequently accused military establishment of providing support to the then PTI government.

The “privatization” of State Bank in PTI tenure was part of the plan to destroy the national economy under the direction of the IMF, he added. Inflation was indeed a problem, he said, but not bigger than Imran Khan. “The government is fixing economy and Ishaq Dar (reportedly the new finance minister] arrival is part of one of its initiatives to achieve the objective.” He said the political forces (in power) had gotten rid of the “real threat to Pakistan in shape of Imran Khan” and now it will also tackle inflation.
