FBR grants four-day extension for sales tax return filing

To aid taxpayers, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has prolonged the deadline for filing tax returns by four days.

As per a notification from the chief commissioner of Inland Revenue, taxpayers now have until April 22 to submit their sales tax and federal excise returns, extending the previous deadline from April 18.

This measure offers relief to taxpayers who may need extra time to gather required documents and ensure accurate filing.

The extension aims to simplify the tax filing process, giving individuals and businesses more time to meet their tax obligations without undue pressure.

All FBR field formations are instructed by the Inland Revenue chief commissioner to inform taxpayers about the extended deadline and ensure adherence to the revised submission schedule.

Taxpayers are urged to utilize this extension to promptly file their returns, avoiding potential penalties or legal issues. The FBR remains committed to supporting taxpayers and promoting voluntary tax compliance to bolster revenue generation for the country.
