The military’s media affairs wing reported on Friday that five terrorists were killed by security forces during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in North and South Waziristan.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a news release, “On March 10, security personnel conducted IBOs in North and South Waziristan areas. Five terrorists were killed during the operation following a fierce firefight.”

In addition, a “significant number of equipment” and firearms were also found on them, the ISPR stated. The statement said, “Pakistan Army is resolved to remove the threat of terrorism from every inch of our country with an unwavering commitment.

Earlier, six militants were killed by security personnel on Wednesday in an IBO in the Datta Khel region of North Waziristan. Two alleged militants were detained last week during an IBO conducted by the security forces in North Waziristan’s Mirali tehsil, which resulted in the death of a suicide bomber facilitator.
