Gold price reaches highest to Rs178,800 per tola

Price of gold increased by Rs3,900 per tola, price of 10 grams increased by Rs3,344 to Rs153,292

The price of gold in the country has continued to rise increasing by Rs3,900 per tola to reach a new high of Rs178,800.

According to the All Sindh Jewelers Association, the price of gold has increased by Rs3,900 per tola to Rs178,800 and the price of 10 grams has increased by Rs3,344 to Rs153,292.

Gold has increased by $12 to $1,808 an ounce in the global market.

Since January 1 this year the price of gold has increased by Rs52,800 per tola and the price of 10 grams of gold has increased by Rs45,096. In January this year these prices were Rs126,200 and Rs108,196 respectively while the price of gold globally was about $1,830 per ounce.

Meanwhile, the price of silver also continued to rise where the price of one tola of silver increased by Rs30 to Rs2,050 and the price of 10 grams of silver increased by Rs25.72 to Rs1757.54 which is the highest level in history.

The sale of gold sets for wedding ceremonies has still come to a standstill as many families have been badly affected by the worst inflation and heavy utility bills.
