Good News for Harry Potter fans

Audible, a subsidiary of Amazon, and Pottermore Publishing have announced a collaboration to produce an audiobook series for J.K. Rowling’s iconic Harry Potter stories.

Scheduled to debut exclusively on Audible in the latter part of 2025, the series will feature all seven titles sequentially, as reported by Variety.

The audiobooks will boast a full cast of over 100 actors, promising immersive audio entertainment with high-quality sound design in Dolby Atmos, captivating scoring, a diverse range of character voices, and real-world sound capture.

Audible CEO Bob Carrigan expressed excitement about the project, noting the enduring appeal of Harry Potter stories and the opportunity to provide a fresh listening experience for both new and longtime fans.

Pottermore Publishing chairman Neil Blair described the collaboration as a groundbreaking endeavor, highlighting J.K. Rowling’s storytelling and the potential for innovative audiobook technologies to enhance the wizarding world experience.

While specific details such as release dates and casting remain undisclosed, it’s clarified that these audiobooks are distinct from the Harry Potter film adaptations.

Additionally, the original single-voice English-language audiobooks narrated by Stephen Fry and Jim Dale will remain available.

Since their initial publication in 1999 and subsequent release on Audible in 2015, the Harry Potter audiobooks have accumulated a total of 1.4 billion global listening hours.
