Government and security forces continue successful anti-drug campaign

Pakistan’s military and government are taking strict action against drug traffickers to eliminate drug addiction. They are targeting drug-related crimes nationwide.

Between April 21 and 28, authorities conducted a series of operations across the country. During these raids, they confiscated a total of 1,025,779 kilograms of various drugs and arrested 1,318 drug traffickers.

In Balochistan, authorities seized 73 kilograms of drugs, including 70 kilograms of hashish and 3 kilograms of methamphetamine. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, they recovered 252 kilograms of drugs, with 197 kilograms of hashish, 51 kilograms of opium, and some other substances.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, 83 kilograms of drugs were seized. This included 4 kilograms of meth, 5 kilograms of heroin, and 73 kilograms of hashish. In Punjab, authorities recovered a total of 167 kilograms of drugs. Among these, there were 78 kilograms of hashish, 6 kilograms of meth, and 81 kilograms of opium. From Sindh, authorities seized 13 kilograms of narcotics.

The institutions involved are determined to continue their efforts to wipe out drugs from the whole country.
