Government to privatize loss-making institutions, announces finance minister Aurangzeb

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb made a significant declaration on Friday, revealing the government’s plan to privatize all institutions operating at a loss.

Speaking at a ceremony, Minister Aurangzeb emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to combat inflation and enhance economic stability.

Highlighting upcoming negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on April 14 and 15, he underscored the pivotal role of IMF collaboration in the nation’s economic agenda.

Minister Aurangzeb reiterated the government’s resolve to strengthen the economy through improved policies, citing forthcoming discussions with IMF officials in Washington.

Emphasizing the importance of micro-economic stability, he outlined plans to establish closer ties with the IMF to achieve this goal.

Furthermore, Minister Aurangzeb acknowledged the positive impact of the stock market on economic growth, attributing improvements to proactive measures implemented by the caretaker government.
