Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh says party keen on achieving ceasefire, roadblocks from Israeli side

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh expressed a strong desire for a comprehensive ceasefire that would halt Israeli aggression, ensure Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza, and facilitate a significant prisoner exchange agreement.

Haniyeh, in a statement, also held Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responsible for prolonging the conflict and disrupting mediation efforts by various parties.

While Hamas is pressing for a sustained ceasefire with guarantees from the US, Israel is more focused on getting the hostages released and allowing a short ceasefire.
