Hamas shifts femands in hostage negotiations, US reviews UNRWA report

State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller mentioned on Monday that Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, has altered its demands in the ongoing hostage negotiations with Israel, facilitated by Egypt and Qatar.

Miller noted that the United States remains committed to pursuing an agreement that focuses on releasing hostages captured on Oct. 7 and achieving a temporary ceasefire in Gaza.

Additionally, Miller mentioned that the United States has received and is currently reviewing a report prepared by former French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna concerning the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).
