High-level trade delegation from Saudi Arabia to reach Pakistan tomorrow

Shortly after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Riyadh, a 50-member trade delegation is set to arrive in Pakistan on Sunday, as reported by the Saudi news publication Sabq.

The delegation, comprising representatives from about 30 companies in Saudi Arabia spanning various sectors such as information technology, communications, energy, aviation, construction, mineral exploration, agriculture, and human resource development, aims to explore investment opportunities and strengthen business ties with local entrepreneurs.

Federal Minister of Petroleum Musadik Malik confirmed the upcoming arrival of the business delegation, stating that 76 Pakistani business companies have been shortlisted for potential collaboration.

Discussions will cover sectors including petroleum, electricity, oil refining, and projects worth billions of dollars.

The visit follows PM Shehbaz’s attendance at the World Economic Forum’s Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy in Saudi Arabia, during which he met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Minister of Commerce Dr Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi to discuss enhancing economic ties between the two countries.

In a meeting with Minister Al-Qasabi, PM Shehbaz emphasized the new era of economic cooperation between Islamabad and Riyadh, with concrete measures being taken to boost bilateral trade.

The Saudi minister expressed the Kingdom’s commitment to prioritize trade and investment in Pakistan, announcing an upcoming delegation of Saudi businessmen, traders, and investors to further bilateral economic ties.

Previously, a high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, visited Islamabad to bolster bilateral cooperation and economic partnership.
