Hina Rabbani Khar meets Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and ex-Foreign Minister of Pakistan Hina Rabbani Khar has met with Taliban’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.

In the meeting, the officials discussed a range of bilateral issues of common interest including cooperation in education, and health.

As per media a report, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Afghanistan Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq was also present.

FM Afghanistan Amir khan Mutaqi Muttaqi discussed the release of Afghan detainees in Pakistan, the transport of goods and passengers between countries, and trade issues.

According to the media reports, the Pakistani side pledged to cooperate to facilitate good treatment of Afghan refugees, visa issuing, as well as trade and transit.

The Afghan side also expressed its readiness to resume TAP, TAPI and railway projects and also clarified its stance on political relations and economic development and security.

This visit of Hina Rabbani is a signal by Afghanistan that all women leaders of the world are welcomed in Afghanistan.

Earlier, senior Taliban government officials including Deputy Economic Minister Abdul Latif Nazari and Pakistan Embassy in Afghanistan CDA Uabaid Nizamani received Hina Rabbani upon arrival in Kabul.

State Minister is on one day official visit to Kabul.

As per the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office, Hina Rabbani will discuss regional connectivity, trade, investment, and educational cooperation, as well as people-to-people interactions, in her meeting with Afghan officials.
