Houthis reaffirm support for Palestine, say they will target all Israel bound ships

Houthi fighters in Yemen have announced their intention to target ships bound for Israeli ports within their military reach.

This escalation follows a series of drone and anti-ship missile assaults on ships navigating key maritime routes such as the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb strait, and the Gulf of Aden.

The Houthis frame these actions as a show of support for Palestinians during Israel’s conflict with Gaza. The decision for this new operation stems from Israel’s proposed ground incursion in Rafah, according to Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesperson.
