IHC dispose of FIA employees’ petition against extension in job contract

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected the appeal of three Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) employees seeking an extension of their employment.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of the IHC delivered a written judgment on the petition filed by the employees.

The verdict states that the three individuals were hired as sub-inspectors on a contractual basis in the FIA Cyber Crime division in 2019.

The departmental selection committee noted that their performance was below par and raised concerns regarding their character, prompting ongoing departmental inquiries against them.

In the judgment, Justice Mohsin stated that extending the job contracts of the employees did not violate fundamental human rights.

As a result, the IHC dismissed the petition filed by the employees.

It’s noteworthy that Komal Anwar, Tanveer Ahmad, and Farhan Ali, FIA employees, had challenged the decision to not extend their job contracts in the IHC.
