Belift Lab announced on Monday that the rookie girl group Illit achieved a remarkable feat by amassing 100 million streams on Spotify with their debut single “Magnetic.”
This achievement was reached in just 26 days, setting a new record for a K-pop girl group’s debut song. “Magnetic,” which leads their EP “Super Real Me,” not only made its mark on Billboard’s Hot 100 and the UK’s Official Singles Top 100 charts, landing at No. 91 and No. 87 respectively, but it also became the first debut song from a K-pop artist to grace either chart.
Following this success, the group, comprised of five teenagers, released a remix version of the song last week and has already garnered two trophies from a Korean television music chart show. Illit is now gearing up to promote their follow-up track, “Lucky Girl Syndrome.”
