‘I’m ready to hold talks, saying this for 18 months’: Imran Khan

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), emphasized that for the past 18 months, he had been open to negotiations but not to striking deals.

Speaking to reporters at Adiala jail, he clarified that while negotiations are a part of politics, they are typically conducted with opponents, not allies.

He reiterated that his party is open to talks with everyone except for three specific parties.

Khan specified Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub, and Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Shibli Faraz as individuals designated for negotiations, not for making deals.

He emphasized that deals are usually sought by those looking to flee the country or evade imprisonment.

Additionally, Khan expressed his awareness of an upcoming fourth case against him regarding Toshakhana gifts, urging authorities to file all desired cases simultaneously.

Recently, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that the party was not engaging in dialogues with anyone and had no specific message for talks.

He underscored that Imran Khan is facing politically motivated cases and urged the judiciary to expedite the legal proceedings.

Furthermore, Barrister Gohar clarified that while Ali Amin Gandapur, Omar Ayub Khan, and Shibli Faraz were authorized to hold talks, their mandate did not include striking deals.

He reiterated that discussions were to be conducted with anyone except for the aforementioned three political parties.
