IMF delegation initiates talks for new loan program in Pakistan

An advance team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has arrived in Pakistan to commence negotiations for a new long-term loan program.

Scheduled to land in Pakistan on the night of May 16, the IMF-led mission comprises several members who will engage in discussions with the country’s economic team.

Their agenda includes gathering data from various departments and collaborating with officials from the finance ministry to strategize on budgetary matters.

The IMF mission is expected to stay in Pakistan for a duration exceeding 10 days.
