An official from the International Monetary Fund emphasized that Pakistan’s reform package holds greater significance than the scale of any new program, stating that the IMF stands prepared to assist the country.
Jihad Azour, the fund’s Middle East and Central Asia director, underscored the importance of accelerating reforms and intensifying efforts to enhance Pakistan’s growth potential during a press briefing held alongside the IMF 2024 Spring Meetings on Thursday.
“I think what is important at this stage is to accelerate the reforms, double down on the structure of reforms in order to provide Pakistan with its full potential of growth,” Jihad Azour said.
