Information minister terms Punjab CM election ‘victory of democracy’

Federal Information Minister Marriyum Auragnzeb has termed the election for the chief minister of Punjab a “victory of democracy”.

While talking to media personnel outside Punjab’s Governor House on Saturday, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the stance of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had been vindicated.

She stated that Punjab was and would remain the “political citadel” of PML-N.

She further termed the ruling of PA Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari as historic and added that it was in line with the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

She said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had been working hard for economic stability by promoting peace and harmony in the country.

Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that action would be taken against those who take the law into their hands in the name of protest.

Speaking to journalists in Lahore, the minister said that PTI workers who had gathered outside the Supreme Court Lahore Registry entered the premises by climbing walls.

Sanaullah said that respect of judiciary was necessary for rule of law in the society.

Earlier, the Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal had laid emphasis upon the need of a charter of economy as the country was passing through a difficult phase.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the planning minister said that tough decisions had to be taken to put the country on the path of progress.

He said that the Punjab province was put on the track of sustainable progress, that had been acknowledged by international organizations.
