Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal discussed Pakistan’s power sector challenges with Chinese companies on Thursday.

He met with top executives from three major Chinese firms specializing in power transmission and distribution during his visit to China.

Iqbal explained the issues Pakistan’s power sector is facing, focusing on transmission losses and related challenges.

He asked the Chinese companies for help in providing technical solutions and innovative approaches.

The Chinese companies, in turn, briefed the Pakistani delegation about their expertise in power transmission.

Additionally, the Chinese companies will collect detailed information about Pakistan’s power sector.

During their visit to Beijing, Chinese experts will also meet with Pakistan’s energy and petroleum ministers.

The Chinese companies will conduct a comprehensive study of the problems in Pakistan’s power sector.
