Graduating from the esteemed London School of Oriental and African Studies, Iqra Hasan carries the torch of her family’s political legacy, with her grandfather and parents having served as members of the Lok Sabha, while her brothers have held seats in the state assembly.
At the age of 27, Iqra Hasan steps into the political arena amidst the backdrop of significant events, including the Muzaffarnagar Muslim riots of 2013 and subsequent demographic shifts, which have injected fervor into the electoral landscape. Iqra Hasan’s foray into politics was catalyzed by the entanglement of her family members, including her brother and mother Tabsum Jafri, in legal battles with the Uttar Pradesh Police.
