The scheduled National Football Championship fixtures in Karachi faced postponement on Tuesday due to the visit of Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, prompting the closure of various city roads for security measures.
The decision to delay the matches stemmed from the public holiday coinciding with the presidential visit.
Earlier in the day, President Raisi articulated a sentiment of familiarity during his tour of Pakistan, notably at the mausoleum of revered poet and philosopher Allama Iqbal.
There, he was greeted with a ceremonial guard of honour and briefed on the significance of the site, symbolizing the historical and cultural ties between the two nations.
