Israel strikes southern Lebanon, kills four

In southern Lebanon, an Israeli airstrike tragically killed four members of a family in their home on Sunday, as reported by civil defense and security sources. The village of Meiss al Jabal, where this incident occurred, has endured significant damage due to ongoing exchanges of fire between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group since the Gaza war began last October.

Hezbollah retaliated by launching “tens” of Katyusha rockets at Kiryat Shmona, an Israeli town near the Lebanese border, according to a statement from Hezbollah. While airstrikes and shelling have occurred intermittently, both sides have avoided full-scale war.

Since October, Lebanese security sources estimate that more than 250 Hezbollah members and 75 civilians have been killed in Israeli strikes. Conversely, Israeli sources report that around a dozen troops and several civilians in Israel have died due to missile fire from Lebanon.

In another development, Hamas militants from Gaza conducted a cross-border raid on October 7, resulting in casualties and hostages according to Israeli reports. Gaza’s health ministry states that more than 34,600 Palestinians have been killed and over 77,000 wounded in Israel’s response to the situation.
