A missile attack by the Israeli army on the Damascus International Airport resulted in the deaths of four people, including two Syrian soldiers.

According to Syria’s state news agency SANA, the attack took place at 2:00 am that caused a halt in the airport’s activities.

As per the Military, “Israel carried out the strike with barrages of missiles, targeting Damascus International Airport and its surroundings causing the death of two Syrian soldiers.”

However, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that a total of four people had died in the early morning attack.

Head of the Observatory Rami Abdul Rahman said, “Four fighters including two Syrian soldiers got killed in the Israeli strike.”

Abdul Rehman added, “The missiles also hit positions for Hezbollah and pro-Iranian groups inside the airport and its surroundings, including a weapons warehouse.”

Since the Syrian civil war began in 2011, Israel launched hundreds of air raids against its neighbour, hitting government forces, forces allied with Iran, and Hezbollah fighters from Lebanon.
