Italian ambassador visits ancient Chowkundi cemetery with Sindh provincial ministers

KARACHI: Italian Ambassador Marilina Armellin, Consul General Danilo, along with the delegation, met with the Provincial Minister of Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, and Archives Sindh, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, and Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah and visited the ancient Chowkundi graveyard on the outskirts of the city.

During the visit, Provincial Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah briefed the Italian delegation about the ancient and historical status of Chowkundi Cemetery. He said that by securing the cultural heritage of Sindh, they were providing a favorable environment to the tourists, due to which a large number of foreign tourists were visiting the historical, cultural, and tourist centers of Sindh.

Italian Ambassador Marilena Armellin said that she was glad to have visited the ancient cemetery of Chowkundi and learned about its history.

Later, Provincial Ministers Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah and Syed Sardar Shah presented replicas of Sindhi traditional Ajrak and Moenjodaro artifacts as gifts to the guests.

On the occasion, Secretary of Culture and Tourism Sindh Khalid Chachad, MD Tourism Syed Fayaz Shah, DG Antiquities Abdul Fattah Sheikh, and other officers were also present.
