Jhokio murder: Out-of-court settlement plea of accused accepted

A Malir district and sessions court on Thursday accepted out-of-court settlement plea of three accused including PPP MPA Jam Awais Gorahm Jokhio in Nazim Jokhio murder case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Malir announced the decision on the out of court settlement of the accused persons in the presence of the family members of Nazim Jokhio Thursday. The court while rejecting the compromise plea of the two accused, remarked those two accused were facing kidnapping charges. Therefore, their out of court settlement plea was rejected. The court remarked that the compromise plea of Jam Awais, Meraj Jokhio and Ahmad Khan had been accepted. The accused Doda Khan, Mohammad Soomar were acquitted from the murder case. Additional and District Sessions Judge remarked that the case of kidnapping the victim would run against the accused Doda Khan and Mohammad Soomar. It is pertinent to mention here Nazim Jokhio was tortured to death in November 2021. One accused Salim Salar had refused to be released on out of court settlement plea saying he had no role in that case. The police had quashed case against the PPP MNA Jam Abdul Karim due to insufficient evidence.
